Happy Valentine's Day!

It's me Erica!! Just thought i'd post another entry highlighting the fabulous 3-day weekend we just enjoyed :)

We took Derek's 6th photo with his charger bear, and yes, he can sit up on his own now! I'm glad we kept this up. Just look at how much he's grown!! Everyone said they grow up so fast, but this is like lightning speed fast. We're enjoying the ride and loving every minute of it.

So happy belated valentine's day! And happy 4 day weekend! For me at least :)

I started my 4-day weekend dropping my parents off at the train station. The month-long babysitting stint came to an end and I was sad that they were headed home. It was fun having my parents around, they were able to experience Derek's adventures and it was fun coming home to my mom's stories about what he'd done that day.

Among the things that i'll miss are driving through the gate of our apartment complex and seeing Derek's and my mom's silouhettes as they looked out the window to wait for Dean and I to come home. It was nice getting to see Derek more instead of having to drive the extra hour to pick him up and bring him home. We were afforded the time to actually play with him in the afternoon when we got home. Monday nights were tv night. My mommy, Dean, and I would watch Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and The Bachelor while we ate dinner. And then American Idol on other nights. I called my mom last night and reminded her that The Bachelor was on and not to forget to watch it. :) Gotta love my mama.

So on Valentine's Day, as I was putting Derek in his car seat, he said "no mom!" haha :) i know he didn't know what he was saying but it came out soooo clear! He doesn't like being restrained his his car seat very much, so the "no mom!" came out at the perfect time as I was buckling him in, i was highly amused. We went to Cheesecake Factory for lunch:

first time in a high chair:
Then we headed to Dean's brother's house for Buenaventura afternoon. Dean's parents just came back from the PI, so we wanted to see how their trip was. It was a nice visit, Dean got to see the DVD of their appearance on wowowee. I missed it cause I was feeding Derek, but i'm sure i'll be seeing it sometime this week. We left just in time for Derek's bedtime and had a nice long sleep.

Sunday, we went to Ikea cause they had free breakfast and we wanted to check out the set of Malm drawers that would be on sale the next day to see if we wanted them. OMG breakfast was packed!! standing room only, you had to literally stand next to a table and wait for them to finish eating before you could sit down. we walked around some more and then went to costco to pick up some stuff and get Dean's tires rotated. We hung out at home for the rest of the evening and went to sleep early for our morning adventure at Ikea.

Monday was our big mission, to get those drawers at Ikea! we got there at 9 and there was already a line that wound around twice! I took Derek to Lowe's with me while Dean waited in line so we could look around and stay out of the cold weather. When we were all done, I walked outside and it was raining! So I walked as fast as I could, keeping Derek shielded from the rain and made it back to the Ikea line, where we waited for another half hour. They let us in at 10 and i swear the line had tripled in size by then. We happily got our drawers, paid, and headed upstairs for free breakfast (again). The rain really sucked so we headed home, where we hung out the rest of the day. Derek was down for a nap and Dean went into our garage to rummage around and find a bin with an exercise video that i wanted (thanks hun!). Thankfully, he found it and the rummaging wasn't for nothing. If you saw our garage, you'd understand ;)

A cute picture for good measure:
we didn't put him there, I swear!

ok that's it for now! see ya next time!
